Art, in my opinion, is a way of life. You don't get tangled in it later in life, but are rather born into it. What I mean by that is, the things you see when you look around differs greatly from those who are looking alongside you. Your eyes differentiate. You observe another world. And your life continues on with inspirations from the creations of the greatest artist ever. In short, i have always been in pursuit of aesthetics and beauty ever since i was a child. Then I grew up, and as I grew older, my perspective changed. The older I got, the more I loved art in every minute detail and in every possible way. I have organised stages, made decorations, sewed costumes, dressed lots of women, did fashion shows, designed home decorations and worked as an art director. The foundation of all these has always been the art of painting. I have been painting on every single available surface since my primary school years. I have always walked towards beauty through my own point of view for as long as I can remember. Eventually, this path led me to ceramics and sculptures. Giving dimensions to clay carried my heart way further than painting ever did. It exhilarated me... Every touch drew me in deeper. The challenging carvings that took hours taught me that I shouldn’t live without them. The feeling of someone being moved by the works I've created and wanting to own them is indescribable. Satisfaction in life can surely mean different things for everyone, but this contentment became something very special and irreplaceable for me. I'd like to finish with the words of my precious and beloved friend, Şafak Tavkul, who proved to me that I was right in my love for art: 'You look at a piece of art, and you either like it or you don't.' The point is not to understand or to comprehend, the essence of art is to love.
